Join us in our mission to advance our collective understanding of the digital economy.
One of the grand challenges of our time is the reinvention of our economy and society to keep up with AI and the acceleration of technology. Our methods, mechanisms, laws, and institutions were developed for a different age—a waning era of an economy based on atoms, rather than bits.
The mission of the Stanford Digital Economy Lab is to advance our collective understanding of the digital economy so that we can build a tech-driven economy that benefits everyone.
The Lab is part is an integral part of the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered AI (HAI). We are the Institute’s primary hub for conducting research related to the economic implications of technology—a demonstration of HAI’s multidisciplinary approach to addressing complex problems. The Lab is co-sponsored by the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research.
