Matty Smith

The Lab is filled with some very smart people who, I’m glad to say, want all this wacky sometimes-scary tech to do the right things. It’s a privilege trying to share their thoughts while hiding what a dummy I am.

Marketing & Communications

Matty is a writer, director and editor based in Los Angeles. He attended Stanford for undergrad but will abstain from saying how long ago that was.

He’s directed national commercial campaigns with celebrities including Kevin Hart, Nick Offerman, and Kumail Nanjiani, and worked as a writer-director for Funny or Die, where he once recorded Mariah Carey doing voice-over from her bed.

A member of the WGA, Matty’s created and written television shows for networks including FX, TBS, TruTV, Nickelodeon and Syfy. He most recently wrote for Teen Titans Go! on Cartoon Network.

Among various marketing and communications-related duties at the Lab, Matty writes the DigDig newsletter and hopes you appreciate the puns.
