Rhea Bergman is a PhD student in Management Science & Engineering at Stanford, where her interests lie at the intersection of AI, economics, and the future of work. Her research focuses on how AI reshapes productivity, expertise, and skill at the individual level, and how these shifts push organizations to rethink both coordination and firm structure.

Before starting her PhD at Stanford, Rhea spent four years at BlackRock, where she specialized in portfolio construction and optimization across a range of asset classes and strategies, and advised institutional clients on the firm’s risk, stress-testing, and performance attribution models.

She holds a B.S. in Statistics and Public Policy from Duke University and an M.Phil from the University of Cambridge. At Stanford, Rhea is also a member of HAI’s AI and Organizations Lab and the AI Policy Working Group. Outside of research, Rhea is an avid cyclist and a lover of philosophy.
