The Stanford Digital Economy Lab is working on one of our most ambitious projects yet: a new platform to track how AI is transforming the labor market, productivity, and value creation. On a regularly-updated, ongoing basis, this multi-phase initiative will translate the Lab’s world-class research into key economic signals, including hiring patterns, AI usage, and consumer surplus.

Building on existing work–including the Canaries study and our relationship with ADP–the AI Economic Indicators at the Stanford Digital Economy Lab will provide clear and detailed data and insights that further our mission of being a trusted, reliable source on how technology is transforming the economy.
