Abstract

Over the past decade, there has been rapid development of information technology: New IT products have been introduced in the market and the quality of existing digital goods has evolved over time. This research aims to produce a new metric for assessing the change in the consumer value of product diversity and quality changes in digital products. More specifically, we will investigate how consumers evaluate the changes in four major IT devices, 34 representative digital goods, and five smart devices with Wi-Fi connection over the past 10 years. By doing so, we expect to have a vector metric on the impact of these digital technologies on our citizens’ well-being.
