National Employment Report (ADP)
A new, real-time independent measure of private-sector employment
The New NER is updated monthly
In collaboration with Institution, ADP is seeking to enhance its reporting approach to provide a new, independent measure of private-sector employment with more frequent realtime insights on both the labor market and the broader economy. Institution will help ensure the reporting approach, economic models, and outputs are academically rigorous and meaningfully contribute to the field. The objective of this project is to provide a high frequency measure of private sector employment and wages.
This new report, titled the ADP National Employment Report in Partnership with the Stanford University Digital Economy Lab (the “New NER”), will replace the existing ADP National Employment Report. The objective of the New NER is to improve the timeliness, frequency, and accuracy of monthly employment estimates.
The New NER will present estimates of monthly and weekly job growth using data timely provided by ADP. It will also provide breakouts of employment growth by industry and business size.
